FEATURED PROJECT
The Bar Behind Seahorse W Union Square
In hospitality design, the bar is more than a functional surface, it's the focal point. It sets the tone, anchors the space, and becomes the place guests naturally gather. When Rockwell Group approached us for their renovation of the W Union Square hotel in New York City, the vision was clear: create a bar that feels both timeless and tactile.

Edge Profiles
The edge profile is a defining detail that adds character and craftsmanship to your countertop or bar top. From sleek and modern to ornate and traditional, each profile is cast to complement the overall design of your project.
Finishes
Our handcrafted finishes are designed to enhance the natural beauty of our living metals, each developing a rich patina over time. From soft matte textures to deep layered tones, every finish tells a story unique to your surface and its environment. Optional clear coat in varying sheens can be added to protect the finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! Please reference our countertop guide, which covers various details you will need to consider during your planning and design process. We are happy to answer any other questions you may have.
-
La Bastille does not provide installation services. We find that our tops can be handled by a qualified contractor. We provide you with an installation guide for projects that will be installed on a die wall and projects that will be installed on cabinetry. We are also available for your questions.
-
We are often asked if we can come on site to template prior to providing a drawing. We typically do not find this necessary and work from your drawings and measurements. If there is a special circumstance that requires a La Bastille professional to come on-site, we can discuss this on a case-by-case basis. We happily receive templates made by others. If you believe a template might be helpful for your project, please let us know and refer to our template guide.
-
It depends on the material used for your project as well as the size of the project and site conditions. Our casting process allows us to craft large surface areas with very few seams. When seams are unavoidable, we place them in a location that makes the most sense in the design. The specific locations will be shown in your detailed design packet. We provide seaming materials and guidance in our installation guides, found here for projects installing on die walls and here for projects installing on cabinetry.
-
The best La Bastille projects begin with early collaboration. We encourage designers and architects to contact us during the design phase, before drawings are issued to contractors or millworkers for bidding. Our specialized materials, finishes, fabrication methods, and installation requirements are best addressed directly with our team. By collaborating early, we can help preserve your design intent, identify technical considerations, establish realistic pricing, and provide the information needed for an accurate bid.
